These are my Respiro-favorites...
Clar2RecorderMorpher (reminds me of a bass clarinet, but with more breath sounds)
Synth2Reed_D
FluteHybrid_C

IMHO, you could experiment with lots of other sounds and hybrids of them:
- Melodica / Blues Harp
- Strings
- Sustained E-guitar sound (Santana...)
- World /medieval wind instruments (Duduk, Shawm, Didgeridoo...)
- Organlike sounds
...

The breathing of the Respiro sounds somewhat artificial (at times). Perhaps you could further enhance the quality because when playing quiet, this is the sound, you can hear most. Otherwise, great project, great instrument. I am looking forward to the things to come... :)

Hey thanks...finally somebody that is posting his favorites and suggestions .... nice...
Your input is taking in consideration for further sounddesign and improvements in the sound engine.

I assume with breathing = noise colours and noise response at low breath input right???

Yes, you are right! :-)
This is a nice exemple of how noise colours and music can work together and the noise becomes part of the music...

OK...got the picture...and we have a solution in mind. The art is to handle the noise (turbulence, spit, resonance etc..) as a separate sound source in the model and driven by an other sensitive pressure curve. but still blending in nicely with the resonating sound of the pipe and mouthpiece. Not easy at all but we will dig into this... ...
by the way....very beautiful sound track.. love this... but please be aware, Respiro is not about emulating real world instruments, we focus on providing a real feel and response.....

cheers
Rudy

"but please be aware, Respiro is not about emulating real world instruments, we focus on providing a real feel and response...."

Yes, I am aware of this. Until now, most developers of softsynth-wind-instruments tried to imitate real instruments. Wouldn't it be great, if some day one guy would listen to some music and say: "This is a great instrument; it sounds real, organic and wonderful." But then, this is not a real instrument, it is a RESPIRO! :-)
