Jim Hanks: Introduction was created by jimhanks
Hello! I was excited to hear about this project and jumped on the intro price. Honestly, I don't know if I can get it to work in my usual workflow yet, but I felt bad for never getting beyond the trial license for VL70 editor. ;-)

I'm hoping to use IMOX with my wind controllers: EWI, Sylphyo, and I'm beta testing the WARBL. I'd like to be able to record into Propellerhead Reason but it does not support VST3 yet, and so far I'm not seeing a free/cheap host that supports Rewire. Reaper looks like it might work but I haven't used Reaper since version 2 or 3 - ever since Reason got audio tracks essentially.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to good things with this project!

Cheers!

Hey Jim, glad to see you on this forum..

About VST2 vs VST3
Yep, Steinberg is not providing VST2 licenses anymore. New plug-in developers such as Imoxplus are therefore "forced" to release VST3 format only.

About Reason
Indeed, Reason is a DAW that does not support VST3. We count on the user community to further increase "demand" toward the various DAW providers for including proper VST3 support.

We tested a lot with Reaper WIN/MAC and have a positive experience with this nice DAW.

No promises, but we are looking into solutions such as a standalone version or even providing a mini-host. Still it will require some advanced skills to route audio into the DAW.

I want to share with you that we are highly committed and well equipped to improve and maintain Respiro, its features, its sonic palette, response and behaviours. We hope many users of the wind/breath users community will find us and become early adopters like you. That kind of support is important because introducing a new generation physical modelling wind-synth is a very complex challenge. Not many are prepared to step into this area, even big players stay away.
Imoxplus (me), took on this challenge and joined forces with other experts like NUSofting, JB-audio and involves strategic influencers such as Pedro Eustache, Adolphe Sax & Cie, Aodyo etc.

"Our mouth (embouchure, breath, lips, tongue, throat etc.) is the most expressive instrument. It's about time we have technology that supports this."

Thanks for the reply, Rudy!

Just to record the answer in this forum, I did get Reason+MetaPlugin+Respiro to work and record the live audio in a Reason audio track. Now that I know I can use Respiro in my workflow, I'll be exploring it more in depth and looking for ways to incorporate it into my productions.

Thanks for developing this tool. It is a niche of a niche market and you'll probably never recoup your investment (kinda like my music, haha!) but sometimes you gotta do things just because they ought to be done. :-)

Cool, Jim, great you figured it out

Also looking forward to hear Respiro used in your productions.
As with real instruments, Respiro is something you need to tweak so it fits your style, pressure, etc... only then you get the sound and response you want.

We will regularly release new instruments. So, wind/breath controller users can tell us what they are looking for as long that they are not asking for a realistic sax, brass or flute....There are enough plugins for this...

keep in touch
